SCAR THEATRE
Scar Theatre is a new theatre company dedicated to sharing the humanity in ugly stories, warts and all. We aim to tell honest, hard-hitting stories, to shine a light on the messy parts of life and the all-too-human ability to get through it. At our core, we are a group of theatre-lovers who are keen to push the technical boundaries of onstage lighting, sound and movement and prioritise the accessibility of theatre for all.

REVIEWS
~ Clemmie Read, Isis Magazine
'SHOCKINGLY EFFECTIVE'
'In the face of Sadie’s anxious humanity, the healthcare system is callously robotic. The horror of the hospital is audio-visually externalised with striking success...Her scan is brought to life by a balletic dance sequence, bars of light moved automatically back and forth, up and down her body, with eerie precision.'
~ Ruth Port, The Oxford Blue
★★★★½
'A beautiful, touching play that is as relatable as it is uncomfortable to watch.'
'Ambitious, emotional and, above all, a very human portrayal of the absurdity and swiftness of chronic illness.'
~ Peter Kessler, BAFTA-winning TV Producer
'THIS IS WHAT THEATRE IS FOR.'
'Stands proudly next to [Angels in America; People, Places and Things; The Inheritance]'
'Sensitively, dramatically, with thorough research and heart-wrenchingly good acting, it takes us through the stages, and we feel Sadie's pain, anger and confusion every step of the way.'
~ Teagan Riches, Cherwell
'DEEPLY MOVING AND EMOTIONALLY HONEST'
'Todd’s writing also deserves more praise than I have space for here, in managing to craft a complex and realistic interior life for Sadie, through dialogue that was quietly beautiful but never heavy-handed or enamoured by its own poetry.'
